WIEDERAUFBAU - WestGermany Berlin

WIEDERAUFBAU, 2025
Peter Dobroschke, Yvonne Wahl, Heidi Sill
WestGermany / Berlin

Is Berlin's art and culture scene currently being hit disproportionately hard by cuts not despite, but precisely because of its international appeal? This development raises the question of whether Berlin is heading for a cultural impasse or needs to reinvent itself. The shift towards an economically driven understanding of culture makes it all the more necessary to pursue self-determined renewal, moving towards greater political protection, binding funding frameworks and resources for cultural independence.
